Chapter 321: Do Not Betray Destiny
Chapter 321: Do Not Betray Destiny
Silas Sinclair’s expression was equally indecipherable.
After receiving the news, the first thought that flashed through his mind was that Landon Ford might have been involved.
But he quickly realized that while the Davidson family wasn’t much smaller than the Ford Family in terms of size, Arlo’s grip on the family wasn’t nearly as strong as Landon Ford’s.
If such an heir were to strike and get caught, the consequences would be dire.
Moreover, to go after an heir just because of what happened to a girlfriend’s sister seemed a bit... excessive for Landon Ford’s temperament.
But what if it was Thea Shaw herself?
Silas Sinclair came to his senses.
The news reported it as an accident, but Silas wasn’t convinced.
If it was an accident, it was too coincidental.
From Thea’s standpoint, Arlo’s actions posed a hidden threat to the Sutton Family. He can target Aurora Sutton now, but what about in the future?
Thea certainly had a reason to act.
But how did she manage to do it so flawlessly?
Silas sat in his bedroom, having just finished a call with Iris Knight, clutching his phone with lips pressed tight, revealing a worry he was unaware of on his usually indifferent face.
Both the timing and the manner of the accident left no evidence to grasp.
The Davidson family wouldn’t know who Arlo had offended in secret, nor would they crazily speculate about someone on the other side of the world.
In Aethelgard, many groups that did business with the Davidson family had to visit after Arlo’s incident, both out of necessity and courtesy.
The only consolation was that Arlo wasn’t yet in charge of the Davidson Group; even though his incident caused chaos, the family had internal matters to deal with, and the group itself remained stable.
They suspected that Arlo’s incident wasn’t an accident, but the police thoroughly combed the scene without finding any human fingerprints.
The Davidson family could only regard it as a genuine accident.
Arlo, who sped through the bustling downtown, finally faced his reckoning.
Landon Ford also needed to go ’visit’ him.
As he was about to leave, Thea Shaw advised him, "Landon, make sure to keep a straight face when you see them; don’t accidentally let out a laugh."
Landon Ford: "..."
Once Landon left, Thea Shaw wasn’t idle either.
After she took action, Florence Locke called her over.
Thea knew what Florence wanted to discuss; it was surely a session of philosophical education.
Once there, Florence indeed asked her, "Did you take action?"
Thea nodded honestly, "Yes."
Florence didn’t ask on whom she acted, simply saying, "Do you remember what I told you the first time about the great taboo for us, the Great National Masters?"
Thea responded calmly, "I remember."
The first rule was never to act against ordinary people.
Not everyone qualifies to become a Great National Master; after all, they are chosen.
Florence just gave Thea a scrutinizing look and said, "Thea, fate is inherently unfair to people, but you’re different. You are favored by fate, and your path to becoming a Great National Master was predestined. From the moment you appeared, I knew there was no one else more suitable for this position than you. Some matters, once started, are difficult to control, so do not betray fate."
Thea nodded earnestly, "I understand, Master."
