Chapter 140 Sisters
Chapter 140 Sisters
When Shen Yueling followed Yu Heng downstairs, her legs felt a little weak.
She held onto the stair railing and walked a little slowly.
Bai Xinran was sitting on the sofa in the living room when she heard the noise and looked up.
"You're awake," she said, standing up. "I didn't know when you came downstairs, so I didn't cook. Are you hungry? Should I make you something to eat?"
She thought to herself that with Shen Yueling here today, she couldn't just grab a bite like she used to when it was just her and Yu Heng.
Yu Heng walked to the sofa and sat down: "No need to trouble yourself, let's order takeout."
Bai Xinran said "Oh" and sat back down on the sofa.
Shen Yueling walked over and sat down next to Yu Heng, with about a person's distance between them.
The three of them sat there, and no one spoke for a while.
Bai Xinran glanced at Shen Yueling, who was looking down at her phone.
The screen was actually black; she was just pretending to look.
Yu Heng picked up his phone and swiped to open the screen: "I'm ordering takeout, why don't you two chat for a bit?"
Shen Yueling looked up, and Bai Xinran also looked over. The two stared at each other for a moment, then quickly looked away.
After about half a minute, Bai Xinran finally found a way to start the conversation: "Uh... do you want some water?" She stood up and walked to the water dispenser. "There's warm water."
"Yes, thank you," Shen Yueling said.
Bai Xinran took a glass of water and walked over to hand it to Shen Yueling.
Shen Yueling took it and held it in her hand.
Bai Xinran pursed her lips; she was more familiar with Ning Yutong.
She had only met Shen Yueling a few times and really didn't know how to start a conversation.
She knew about their relationship and what had happened last night.
Although I didn't see it, I heard it.
Shen Yueling also felt awkward, as she knew of Bai Xinran's existence.
She knew that her relationship with Yu Heng was unusual, but she didn't know the specifics.
Now that the three of them were sitting there, she felt an indescribable awkwardness.
"You... did a live stream yesterday?" Shen Yueling tried to ask.
"Yes, it played." Bai Xinran sat back down in her chair. "After you went up, it played for a while."
"What content was being broadcast?"
"We just chat and play games," Bai Xinran said, "and occasionally sing."
"oh."
They're speechless again.
As Yu Heng ordered takeout, he listened to their conversation and couldn't help but twitch his lips.
He looked up and said, "You two don't need to be so polite. You know each other's situation."
Shen Yueling rolled her eyes at him.
"What I mean is, you two will be seeing each other quite often in the future," Yu Heng said, placing his phone on the coffee table. "You can exchange ideas, haha."
This time, Shen Yueling didn't glare at him; instead, she reached out and pinched his thigh.
"Hiss—" Yu Heng gasped, "It hurts."
"Serves you right," Shen Yueling said angrily.
My thoughts?
What are your thoughts?
How can you even communicate like this?
"I've ordered," Yu Heng put down his phone. "It'll probably take half an hour to arrive. Don't be so formal, A-Ling. Yue Ling is older than you, so just call her Sister Yue Ling."
Shen Yueling remained silent, which was taken as tacit agreement.
Bai Xinran pursed her lips and tentatively called out, "Sister Yue Ling."
"Mm," Shen Yueling responded.
"You can just call me A-Ling," Bai Xinran said.
"it is good."
The atmosphere seemed to have warmed up a little.
Once you call her "sister," the relationship seems to be set in stone.
Shen Yueling felt a little relieved; she was the older sister, and Bai Xinran was the younger sister.
Although this younger sister's relationship with Yu Heng seems to be even more special than his own, at least she has a formal title, which means they are not in a hostile relationship.
After lunch, Yu Heng got up and went upstairs, returning shortly with the computer case in his arms.
"What are you going to do?" Shen Yueling watched him plug the cable into the back of the TV.
"Let's play games." Yu Heng squatted in front of the TV cabinet fiddling with the interface. "Three people, just right."
Bai Xinran went to get three cushions and threw them on the carpet in front of the coffee table.
The TV lights up, and the system interface appears.
Yu Heng tossed the three controllers onto the mat: "Overcooked? Ever played it?"
Shen Yueling shook her head.
"It's alright," Yu Heng said, sitting down as well. "It doesn't really matter whether you've played this game before or not."
Once the game loads, the graphics are cartoonish, and the characters are several little chefs.
Yu Heng chose the one wearing a tall hat, Bai Xinran picked a female chef with pigtails, and Shen Yueling casually chose one with brown hair.
"Yu Ling, you're in charge of chopping the vegetables, A Ling, cook, and I'll deliver them," Yu Heng instructed.
Shen Yueling stared at the screen, feeling a little unfamiliar with the buttons.
The little girl walked to the cutting board and pressed the chopping button repeatedly.
Bai Xinran waited until the vegetables were chopped, then brought them to the pot and nervously watched the progress bar.
Yu Heng ran back and forth between the two, taking the prepared plates and delivering them to the window.
"Ah Ling! Rice! Cook the rice!" Yu Heng shouted.
"It's cooking! It's cooking!" Bai Xinran hurriedly placed the rice pot on the stove.
"Yueling, go cut the meat, we're out of meat!" Yu Heng turned to Shen Yueling again.
"I'm cutting!" Shen Yueling's voice unconsciously rose a little.
The screen was a mess; the frying pan was on fire. Bai Xinran quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed it.
Time's up, and the results screen pops up: two stars.
Shen Yueling put down the handle, picked up her water glass, and took a sip.
She found that her palms were actually a little sweaty; the game was much harder than it looked.
"Want to play again?" Yu Heng asked.
"Play." Shen Yueling put down her cup. She didn't believe it.
Another level passed, this time I got three stars.
Shen Yueling breathed a sigh of relief, leaned back, and gently touched Yu Heng's leg with her back.
"Want to rest for a while?" Yu Heng asked.
"Hmm." Shen Yueling placed the handle on the carpet and flexed her fingers.
My knuckles are getting stiff from pressing so many times.
Bai Xinran put down the controller and stood up: "I'll go get something to drink. What would you like to drink, Sister Yueling?"
"Water will do," Shen Yueling said.
Bai Xinran went to the kitchen, leaving only the two of them in the living room.
Yu Heng naturally placed his hand on Shen Yueling's shoulder, his fingers gently kneading her neck and shoulder area.
Shen Yueling paused slightly, but did not dodge.
"Are you tired?" Yu Heng asked.
"A little," Shen Yueling said.
"What do you want to eat tonight?" Yu Heng pressed down on his hand with just the right amount of pressure.
"Whatever." Shen Yueling closed her eyes.
Bai Xinran returned with water and saw Yu Heng massaging Shen Yueling's shoulders.
She paused for a moment, then walked over and placed the water glass on the coffee table in front of Shen Yueling.
"Thank you." Shen Yueling opened her eyes.
Bai Xinran sat back on her cushion and hugged her knees.
She watched Yu Heng's hands move on Shen Yueling's shoulders and remembered how he would massage her back like that when it ached.
However, the difference is that he usually presses it a little lower.
She pursed her lips, not out of jealousy, but because she also wanted to be close to Yu Heng.
Bai Xinran licked her lips, hesitated for a moment like a kitten, then crawled over and gently lay down on Yu Heng's other leg.
Seeing this, Yu Heng naturally placed his other hand on her head and gently stroked it a few times.
Shen Yueling couldn't help but smile when she saw Bai Xinran's expression.
This little girl is quite cute.
Bai Xinran noticed that Shen Yueling was laughing at her, and feeling a little embarrassed, she buried her head even deeper.
"You two," Yu Heng said, looking at them with amusement, "why don't you take a nap?"
