Chapter 327: Publicly Revealed
Chapter 327: Publicly Revealed
Thea Shaw woke up in the morning and received an unexpected phone call.
"Thea?"
The voice on the other end sounded like a young woman. Thea tried to recall but couldn’t remember, so she said, "It’s me. Who’s this?"
"Ah, it’s Yvonne Lane. Do you remember me?"
Yvonne Lane?
Thea thought for about ten seconds, and some related information emerged from her dusty memories.
It was her elementary school classmate!
Thea had kept in touch with very few of her childhood classmates.
Yvonne Lane was one of them.
When they were little, the two of them had a pretty good relationship. Back then, they sat at the same desk, and whenever one of them had pocket money, they’d treat the other to food. Their friendship was clean and pure, reminiscent of a happy elementary school time.
Thea remembered and laughed, "So, it’s you. We haven’t been in touch for so many years. Where did you go to school? How did you get my number?"
Later, because of family reasons, Yvonne moved away. When they were little, they didn’t have phones or contact methods, so gradually, the related memories naturally blurred.
"I got it from someone else."
Although Yvonne didn’t keep in touch with Thea, she was still able to connect with some elementary school classmates and eventually got Thea’s contact information through them.
She chatted with Thea for a bit, mostly recounting things from the past, reviving some shared memories between them. Then, without saying much else, Yvonne left her contact information and hung up the phone.
Thea sensed that Yvonne probably had something to say. Otherwise, there was no reason to find her contact info out of the blue. But since Yvonne didn’t mention it, she didn’t ask.
Next was Benson Abbott’s unexpected evening party.
Aurora Sutton still needed proper rest, and it was originally agreed with Mrs. Sutton not to bring her and Zia Sutton along, but now that it had to be public, everyone had to be brought along.
Zia Sutton came home to go along too. When he heard it was the Abbotts’ evening party, he was a bit shocked, "Aren’t you afraid there’ll be a fight?"
Thea said, "With me here, what are you afraid of? Besides, even if a fight breaks out, don’t we still have you?"
Zia: "..."
What use is he then!
Benson Abbott held the evening party at the Abbott’s residence.
The Abbotts lived in an estate in the suburbs with a private road.
Tonight, the estate was brightly lit, and the private road was filled with parked cars.
Many people were willing to give face to the Abbotts, though it was nothing compared to the scene at the Adler Family patriarch’s event a few days ago.
Nonetheless, it showed that even though the Abbotts weren’t what they used to be, many still wanted to give him face.
Thea also met Shirley Abbott for the first time.
She was dressed in a white limited edition evening gown, and she elegantly greeted everyone in the crowd, displaying the demeanor of a daughter of the Abbotts.
She was originally the center of attention, but once Thea appeared, the spotlight shifted solely to Thea.
Aurora Sutton noticed Shirley Abbott’s radiant smile paused slightly upon seeing Thea, and she immediately chuckled, "Looks like she didn’t expect you to show up and steal her thunder."
Thea responded softly, "Aurora, don’t smile so smugly, like the minor female character in a TV drama."
Aurora Sutton: "..."
Their whispered conversation couldn’t be heard by others, but when Benson Abbott saw the Sutton Family bringing Aurora, his eyes flashed, followed by a scrutinizing expression.
Clearly, he understood everything.
Mr. and Mrs. Sutton wore smiles on their faces, but in their hearts, they had cursed Benson Abbott a thousand times over.
