Chapter 362: Competition
Chapter 362: Competition
Thea Shaw smirked faintly, "No wonder she brought over pastries yesterday."
Monica Cole didn’t even put effort into acting.
If she had a thicker skin, she’d come by every day to check in punctually.
Thea said, "A school like this, parents generally wouldn’t be aware of it, right?"
Mrs. Sutton nodded, "Your dad even asked who suggested this school? He could have found a better, more suitable one for Monica. It’s obvious that this school doesn’t fit her. Her dad didn’t explicitly say it, but from what he implied, I guess Monica herself wants to go."
She used to think that child was gentle and shy, but now that this has come out, the more Mrs. Sutton thought about it, the less comfortable she felt.
Thea shook her head and laughed, "Too impatient."
Just arriving in Aethelgard and already in such a rush; holding on to this lead should be a long-term development to handle it well.
Now it has directly annoyed Mr. Sutton, and the social interaction between the Cole Family and Sutton Family stops here.
Mrs. Sutton didn’t quite understand what Thea meant by this but sensed something and didn’t pursue the topic further.
After breakfast, Mrs. Sutton went out.
Thea had classes all day today, and no one from the Sutton Family was coming back. At noon, the maid only prepared a meal for her.
In the afternoon, after finishing classes, Thea was really bored and didn’t plan to eat dinner at home, so she went out to wander.
She was just about to find Landon Ford when Aurora Sutton called, saying her grandfather, Old Mr. Kensington needed to see Thea.
Thea then changed direction and went to the Old Mr. Kensington Family.
Thea didn’t know what Old Mr. Kensington wanted with her, but when she arrived, she smiled and greeted, "Grandpa Kensington, did they find Elder Rhodes’ daughter?"
"They say they found her, but I didn’t ask for details."
Old Mr. Kensington chuckled, invited Thea to sit down, and sighed, "Thea, your fortune-telling is indeed accurate, but I called you here for another matter. I’ve been thinking it over and feel I should remind you."
"Oh?" Thea raised an eyebrow, "What do you want to remind me of, sir?"
Old Mr. Kensington looked at Thea and asked, "Have you heard of The Aetherium Sect?"
Thea was a bit surprised, then nodded, "I know it."
Old Mr. Kensington nodded, his expression growing serious, "The Aetherium Sect is the most well-known sect in our part of Aethelgard, and some of the people in their sect do have certain skills. Before I found you, I even sought their help just to adjust the feng shui of my company, but as you know, we do these things just to put our minds at ease."
"Until today, I heard something."
Old Mr. Kensington mentioned something that surprised Thea: "In a community in Gryphold District, there was a suicide incident associated with a cult organization called The Clear Path Sect."
Thea didn’t expect this matter to reach Old Mr. Kensington’s ears and was surprised, "Even you heard about it?—Did you see it online?"
"It’s not that I saw it online, but Elder Rhodes told me to warn you."
Old Mr. Kensington’s face turned serious, "Others might not know, but we are aware of some things. The Clear Path Sect is one of China’s old sects, involving them with a cult is pure nonsense. But, some time ago, The Aetherium Sect had a business deal snatched by The Clear Path Sect. Elder Rhodes knows more than I do; since he asked me to warn you, you should understand what it means."
Thea: "..."
Ah, even those practicing superstitions have to compete so fiercely?
