Chapter 429: The Employee Who Jumped
Chapter 429: The Employee Who Jumped
"The reason for dissatisfaction is quite simple."
Thea Shaw, having seen a lot, had a special say: "Previously, Grandpa Kensington had no other heirs, so relatives from Grandma Kensington’s side held part of the company rights, and Grandpa Kensington was powerless. But now that you’ve appeared, things are different. This uncle of yours might have some problems; now it seems it’s not just your father we need to guard against."
No wonder Grandpa Kensington was so supportive of letting her join the company.
And there was Landon’s remark that Grandpa Kensington might have other motives for letting her join the company, which she now understood.
She was someone who could read faces, wasn’t she spot on at sizing people up?
If this general manager has any ulterior motives, Thea Shaw would know with just one look.
Aurora Sutton was somewhat dumbfounded: "But... aren’t we thinking too badly?"
Strictly speaking, this general manager was someone Thea Shaw hadn’t even met; Aurora Sutton just thought they were thinking too negatively.
Thea Shaw smiled meaningfully: "Anything involving interests requires thinking of the worst."
Upon hearing this, Aurora Sutton’s expression was startled.
She wasn’t exactly naive and simple, but the environment of the Sutton Family was just too good. Aurora was only a twenty-something college student, merely interning in the company. Apart from her father, she had yet to experience the intricacies among relatives.
Even with Thea Shaw, possibly the most problematic person, she got along friendly.
Except for the kidnapping incident, strictly speaking, Aurora did not have a direct experience of the world’s good and bad.
So when thinking things through, she wouldn’t think of the worst possible outcome.
But she was clever. With Thea Shaw’s words, she became cautious. Though she wouldn’t show it obviously right now, she knew she had to observe.
After checking the inventory, as Thea and Aurora were returning to the office, they suddenly saw chaos erupting in the company building.
Department colleagues were running outside, and Rowan Donovan, who was following the crowd, looked alarmed seeing them return, grabbed Aurora’s arm and said, "Let’s go downstairs, something’s happened."
"Huh? What’s happened?"
Aurora and Thea were just on their first day here.
Rowan said, "A colleague jumped off the building! The police are about to arrive!"
Thea and Aurora exchanged a glance and immediately ran outside with the crowd.
The person jumped from the rooftop, and amidst the spectacle, everyone was also puzzled, running downstairs to see.
Soon, the outside of the Kensington Group building was surrounded by onlookers.
Thea and Aurora, having good eyesight, could only vaguely see someone on the rooftop, seemingly a woman.
Fortunately, nowadays, there’s the all-powerful cellphone.
Thea zoomed in with her phone camera, discovering that it was a young woman, her face somewhat blurred, sitting at the rooftop’s edge. A slight move could make her fall, her swaying actions frightening the viewers.
No need for Aurora and Thea to ask others; Rowan, pale-faced, informed them: "Isn’t that Vivian Doyle from the planning department?"
Thea asked her, "Who is Vivian Doyle?"
Nearby colleagues glanced over, seeing how beautiful Thea was and knowing she was new, they kindly informed them.
Vivian Doyle was regarded as a backbone of the planning department, personally very capable, and became the team leader within a year of joining the company. This was considered a quick promotion.
The problem was, she caught Manager Woods’ eye.
The process was unknown, but it was a matter understood by everyone. Now jumping off the building seemed related to the incident when Manager Woods’ wife caused a scene in the company a few days ago.
