Chapter 503: Not Letting Her Leave
Chapter 503: Not Letting Her Leave
After all, this is quite the piece of gossip.
Heading back to Aethelgard, Thea Shaw was still keeping an eye on the developments.
She told Mr. Sutton, "Dad, since you’re discussing a collaboration, you have to tell me if there are any follow-up developments."
This situation is too exciting!
I can’t miss the end, can I?
Mr. Sutton: "...When you go back, focus on your work, and stop with all this nonsense."
Thea Shaw: "..."
Humph!
On the first day back in Aethelgard, Thea Shaw invited Landon Ford out to tell him about the Seymour Family’s affairs.
The Seymour Family had some business dealings with the Ford Group, but nothing too deep, so their contact wasn’t very tight.
Landon Ford wasn’t too familiar with the Seymour Family, but after hearing about this, he found it interesting too.
The conversation between the two then shifted to Fenmore itself.
"Didn’t find any leads?"
Thea Shaw shook her head, "Fenmore is so vast, there’s no way we’d find something just by circling it a couple of times."
Landon Ford nodded, unsurprised, as they didn’t hold much hope initially: "Then we just have to wait."
Wait for that person to slip up themselves.
But considering only one talisman surfaces every twenty years, getting more clues might be very difficult.
However, Thea Shaw thought about it, and realized that both she and Landon Ford had plenty of time.
"By the way."
Landon Ford suddenly smirked meaningfully, "Aurora Sutton recently met with Ian Quinnell alone."
Thea Shaw was just about to drink water, but put down her cup in shock, "I just left for four days, and the world’s already changed this much?"
The key was that Aurora never mentioned this in their occasional WeChat chats.
Landon Ford leaned back, hands clasped behind his head, looking amused: "She’s a top student after all, don’t underestimate her. A few days ago, Ian Quinnell wanted to enter a domestic company, but that decision was vetoed by me. Perhaps his initial target was never that; Aurora Sutton recently hired a renowned domestic lawyer for the lawsuit against Benson Abbott, and that lawyer just so happens to be Ian Quinnell’s mentor."
"He studied law abroad, then returned home to learn domestic law, and ran into Aurora."
Thea Shaw said, "So he really has his sights set on Aurora Sutton?"
"Maybe it’s not Aurora Sutton that’s important. You were his target from the start."
It’s just that now they’ve only just met, and it’s not the right time yet, so he surely wouldn’t immediately think of Thea Shaw.
Thea Shaw tilted her head, "Can I let him have this chance? If he has what it takes to help Aurora Sutton win the lawsuit and take the biggest chunk out of Benson Abbott, I’d have a better view of him."
Landon Ford: "Then you’re overestimating him."
Thea Shaw: "..."
Aurora Sutton found a domestic lawyer, and Benson Abbott isn’t easy to deal with.
Plus, he has foreign nationality, making an international lawsuit much tougher.
After meeting Landon Ford, she planned to go back in the evening, but as she was leaving, Landon Ford pulled her back: "We haven’t seen each other for days, and you’re leaving already?"
Thea Shaw put on a righteous look, "I have to get back to work. I need to go to the office tomorrow morning."
She hadn’t been to work in days and didn’t know what her colleagues were saying about her behind her back.
Landon Ford scooped her up effortlessly: "I wrote a leave of absence for you, and got it approved."
Thea Shaw: "..."
What company are you with that you could file leave for me!!
Of course, Thea Shaw’s protests were futile in the end, and she was carried into the car and taken back by Landon Ford.
