"The dowry.." Yu Tong hiccuped as she pointed at Second Madam Yu and said, "You engaged me to that mer but I never saw a single betrothal gift! Do you want me to ask you what you did with those gifts?"

Her words caused everyone to turn and look at Second Madam Yu who stiffened and pursed her lips. She wanted to say something but had no idea where to even begin because those betrothal gifts were indeed not with her anymore!

"Come to think of it," Yu Dong turned her gaze sharply at Second Madam Yu who stiffened under her gaze. She felt like a sharp knife was pressing against her neck. "Though she is drunk, she brought up the right question. Though she got engaged we did not see even a single betrothal gift coming to our house, so where did it all go?"

However before she could say anything more, she saw Yu Tong's eyes turn red as she started to cry, "You only care about Yu Cheng, for his sake, you did not even let go of me and like a pig or cow you sold me away to the Murong family! Is a few betrothal gifts, that's all I am worth of?"

'Then what about the chicken and pork belly that he eats while I am left to eat his leftovers! Am I not giving in to him? That money was earned by me, I was the one who deserved to use it! 'I should be thankful for that?' Yu Tong looked at her parents who seemed serious. It was then she realized that her worth in the eyes of her parents was much lower than that of her brother who was born as a man.

'You are too much!' Yu Tong screamed at her parents before running out of the house. She had expected that her parents would eventually come to look for her but they did not as that night Yu Cheng came to the village and both of her parents were busy pampering him.

The only one who cared about her was her grandmother, who asked her mother to look for her. But her mother told her grandma that Yu Tong was no longer a child and there was no need for them to look for her.
