Chapter 1373: Happiness and envy

Eldest Miss Fu did not say anything, she awkwardly glanced at her father and said to him, "It’s because the children like you a lot which is why they want to go with you everywhere."

Old Master Fu snorted, he knew for a reason that the children only stuck close to him like little tails because they liked his cooking and the more they stayed close to him, the more softened his stance became. A few days ago, he allowed the kids to make a few demands and ever since then they have become more and more bold.

Now they all acted cheekily and her daughters who wanted to suck up to their father, let them do whatever they wanted. If not for the fact then he wouldn’t have to wake up so early and ride the carriage at dawn and that too for strawberry picking.

"You can act all cheeky but I know that you are actually trying to get a bowl of braised pork and chives dumplings," Old Master Fu narrowed his eyes at his eldest daughter who swallowed and licked her lips.

"Of course not. I just want to spend some time with you Father," Eldest Miss Fu refuted. However, she only received a scoff and Eldest Miss Fu immediately turned her head to look outside the window of the carriage. Well, it was not a lie but she was indeed hoping to mooch off her father once they returned home. It was not her fault either as her father’s cooking was simply delectable!

The Fu family soon arrived at the strawberry picking farm and the children of the Fu family stepped outside under the guidance and leadership of Fu Qiuyi who looked around the farm and exclaimed, "Oh my dear heavens! So many strawberries!"

She cupped her cheeks and gushed while her face turned red with excitement. Eldest Miss Fu shook her head, she paid for the children and the two adults before entering the greenhouse that was filled with strawberries and more strawberries, it was as if there were waves of strawberries flooding inside the greenhouse.

"Welcome to Yu Strawberry farm," a beautiful-looking mer greeted them with a smile on his face. He looked at Eldest Madam Fu and questioned, Do you need a basket or a bucket?"

This was the first time Eldest Madam Fu was picking strawberries. She could not help but ask, "What is the difference between a basket and a bucket?"

The mer did not find her question bothersome. Instead, he explained in great detail, "The basket has a built-in carrier that allows the condensed milk to be placed. This way you can pick and eat the strawberries at the same time.

Eldest Madam Fu did not understand how Yu Dong came up with so many ideas, however, she was in awe of everything that Yu Dong had done.

The worker distributed small buckets that were really cute and light to the kids while handing slightly bigger ones to the adults.

"Hope you have a fun time," the worker greeted them as Eldest Madam Fu and Old Master Fu walked inside the greenhouse which was filled with a crowd. At several stops, a few sturdy women were standing with fans and in front of them were stone platforms on which vats with ice were kept.

It made the entire greenhouse cold and really nice.

"This is really a good place to relax," Eldest Madam Fu could feel the tension from her shoulders slowly easing up as she had never been to a place which was filled with crowd but at the same time so quiet. Even though the people around them were talking, they were too busy using the time they had in their hands to pick the strawberries.

Thus, no one caused too much trouble instead it was rather quiet but once in a while a child would scream in glee when he or she found a big red strawberry.
