His actions were too natural and the mer did not see any signs of Chen Mi lying to him. He nodded heavily and whispered, "I heard that no one saw her leave but somehow she escaped the village. Now the mammies are looking around the entire village for a dog hole that Yu Linyun might have used when she was escaping."
The mers whose families were burned to death were so angry that they wanted to find Yu Linyun at the town but they were stopped by their women. The town was not like their village, where they could clamour as they liked.
Many officials lived in the town if they became dissatisfied with the mers making a ruckus, they would send them to the Yamen.
