Chapter 625 We Moved to a Bigger House
Chapter 625 We Moved to a Bigger House
The process of applying for a large house went much more smoothly than Naruto had imagined.
Kakashi, without even asking why, simply drew a circle on the map of Konoha Village when he heard his request.
"There is an empty house next to the Hyuga clan's residence. It's big enough, and the yard is spacious."
Kakashi pushed the map over, speaking as casually as if he were reviewing a regular document, "It just so happens that the Hyuga clan's Byakugan can help you look after Ino, so I can rest assured when you're not around."
Naruto paused for a moment, then asked, "Kakashi-sensei, how did you know I was going to...?"
Do I even need to guess what you're thinking?
Kakashi lifted his headband, revealing his lazy eyes. "You've been going to the hospital every day these past few years, everyone in Konoha knows that, right? Alright, stop dawdling and hurry up and tidy up the house. I'll have someone help you with the wedding arrangements."
Naruto stood up straight, bowed at a ninety-degree angle, and loudly expressed his gratitude: "Thank you, Kakashi-sensei..."
"Oh, right," Kakashi called after Naruto, who was turning to leave, "I've already had someone contact the outside world about the cat and dog you wanted. You know Pakkun, the summoning dog; that old dog is a bit of a chatterbox, but reliable. As for the cat... the swordsman has a bit of a temper, but he's a good fighter; he'll be enough to guard the house."
Naruto couldn't help but say, "Kakashi-sensei, thank you so much."
Kakashi smiled along, his smile unusually sincere. "Naruto, you're not alone anymore. From now on, speak and act like an adult, and stop acting like a child."
These words made Naruto pause in his tracks.
Isn't it just one person anymore?
Yes, he has Ino now. In the future, there will be many more people and things that need to be protected.
"Don't worry, Kakashi-sensei, I'm all grown up now."
The new house is located next to the Hyuga clan's settlement. It is a typical Japanese-style building with a front yard and a back yard. Although the soil in the yard has been barren for a long time, it can be planted with a little tilling.
Naruto spent three days cleaning the house and brought in new bedding and furniture from the supply depot. Although they were all standard-issue items, they made the big house feel more like home.
Pakkun came to Naruto's door after Naruto had finished tidying up. He squatted on Naruto's doorstep, scratched his ear with one hind leg, then raised his head and looked around with his shrewd eyes.
"Where's my room? Kakashi told me to look after your place, I thought it would be something big, but this is all?"
Naruto squatted down. "From now on, when I'm not home, please keep an eye on her for me."
After saying that, he pointed to Ino, who was sitting on a cushion inside the room plucking flower petals.
"Alright then." The pug sighed, slowly strolled into the house, and lay down at Ino's feet. "Anyway, I'm old and can't run anymore. It's more relaxing following you."
Two days later, Sasuke brought his cat over as well.
The other party didn't say a word, just like Sasuke, only letting out a cold snort.
"He really does have a bad temper." Naruto smiled wryly, but he didn't want to make a fool of himself by going up to strike up a conversation.
But the next morning, he found the swordsman curled up on Ino's lap, making soft purring sounds, while Ino's hand was on its back, stroking its fur gently.
Parker lay down beside him, rolling his eyes: "Cats are just snobs."
The swordsman pricked up his ears, glanced back at Parker, and then continued snoring with his eyes closed.
Naruto stood at the door watching this scene and suddenly felt that he finally had a home.
On the day of Naruto's housewarming party, Hinata Hyuga was the first to visit, because she lived very close to Naruto's new home.
She was still wearing a light-colored kimono, carrying a basket of homemade mochi balls, and stood at the door with a slight bow, her voice soft: "Naruto-kun, congratulations on moving."
Naruto welcomed her into the house, and the two sat on the porch, facing a desolate yard that had not yet been renovated.
"I might need your help looking after Ino from now on," Naruto said, scratching his head a little embarrassed. "What if she runs away while I'm not around..."
"Leave it to me, I'll take good care of her."
Naruto looked at her and suddenly felt a little dazed. He hadn't had much contact with Hinata over the years.
The Hyuga clan holds a special position in Konoha. Although the conflict between the main family and the branch family was resolved many years ago by the efforts of the third generation, all of them were wiped out, leaving only three members.
Hinata, as the eldest daughter of the Hyuga main family, shoulders the mission of revitalizing the clan. She rarely appears in public, and Naruto has only seen her from afar at a few village gatherings.
She sat beside him, her eyes lowered, her fingers gently stroking the fabric of her knees, her ear tips slightly red.
Suddenly I realized he looks really good with long hair. How come?
Naruto quickly composed himself and turned away. He thought this was probably a common problem for all men: when they see a pretty girl, they have strange thoughts.
He couldn't help but despise himself in his heart. He loved himself deeply; how could he be such a despicable person who was lustful at first sight?
Why is there this inexplicable connection between past and present lives?
"Naruto, what's wrong?" Hinata asked, leaning closer.
He bent down slightly, just enough for others to catch a glimpse of the scenery. Their gazes involuntarily followed it again, only to be hastily looked away.
He sat up straight, looking restless, rubbing his thighs with both hands. "The others will be here soon. I'll go to the kitchen and get some milk."
Hinata stood up from behind, smoothing her long, loose black hair. "Why are you suddenly acting so strange? I guess all married men become weird creatures after all."
At this point, she blushed and suddenly thought of Sasuke. If she married Sasuke in the future, would Sasuke also become this kind of strange man?
But the thought of marriage made her face turn even redder, and steam rose from her head. She turned her head and saw Sasuke walking towards her.
"Sasuke-kun!"
"Hmm." Sasuke glanced at her and replied softly, "Where's Naruto?"
"In the kitchen." Having received the answer, Sasuke took a step forward, wanting to take another look.
Hinata's eyes were fixed on him from behind, and Hanabi and Neji Hyuga also appeared behind him.
Intelligent people had already seen the answer, but Neji didn't know how to step forward to stop or persuade him, until Tenten and Little Lee appeared, making him turn his head away and temporarily forget about Hinata.
On a large tree not far away, Gaara floated in mid-air on a sand mat, his arms crossed over his chest.
Below, an ordinary-looking girl sat on a tree branch, sketching and drawing, seemingly sketching something.
"Aren't you going in?" she asked, looking up.
"Then what are you drawing here?" Gaara asked coldly.
"future!"
